Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tally application (“Tally”, “the app”, “the service”) provided by Nibal (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Tally, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
Tally is a personal budgeting and expense-tracking tool. It lets you record transactions, organise them into budgets, sync them across your devices, and optionally use AI-powered features (an AI coach and statement import). Tally is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Tally. By using the app you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at Nibal.khattar12@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for losses arising from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
4. Not financial advice
Tally is a tool for tracking and organising your own money. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Any figures, forecasts, summaries, or AI-generated suggestions are for informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Always verify important figures yourself and consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
5. AI features and statement import
Two optional features — the AI Coach and statement import — use a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to process your data. They are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, with no warranty of any kind.
AI output can be wrong. The AI may misread, miscategorise, miss, duplicate, or invent transactions, and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information. The figures, categories, and suggestions it generates are estimates, not verified records. You must review all AI output — and every imported transaction — before relying on it. Tally does not check or guarantee the accuracy of anything the AI produces.
When you upload a statement (or any document), you represent and warrant that:
- the document and the financial information in it are yours, or you are otherwise authorised to upload and process it;
- uploading it does not breach your agreement with your bank or any other institution, or violate any other person's rights; and
- you are responsible for any third-party information contained in the document (for example, the names of payees) and for redacting anything you do not wish to have processed.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- the file you choose is transmitted to our AI provider for processing, and you consent to that processing (described in our Privacy Policy);
- you use these features at your own risk and are solely responsible for any decision you make based on AI output or imported data;
- to the maximum extent permitted by law, Tally is not liable for any error, omission, or inaccuracy in AI output or imported data, or for any loss arising from your use of these features; and
- you will indemnify and hold Tally harmless from any claim, loss, or demand arising out of a document you upload that you were not authorised to upload or that infringes a third party's rights.
Nothing produced by these features is financial, investment, tax, or accounting advice (see Section 4).
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Tally for any unlawful purpose or to store data you have no right to store,
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts, or our infrastructure,
- probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the service or its backend,
- reverse engineer, resell, or commercially exploit the service except as allowed by law,
- upload malware or content that infringes the rights of others.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Your data and content
You retain ownership of the data you enter into Tally. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to operate the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you provide.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Tally available and reliable, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes take effect when we update the “Last updated” date, and continued use means you accept them.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Tally is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of AI output.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or financial loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Termination
You may stop using Tally and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law. On termination, your right to use the service ends; data deletion is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
12. Subscriptions and payments (Tally Pro)
Some features — collectively “Tally Pro” (currently the AI statement import and AI coach) — require a paid subscription. Core budgeting and tracking remain available without a subscription.
- Billing. Tally Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Free trial. Where a free trial is offered, payment is taken and the subscription begins when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Prices. Prices are shown in the app before you purchase and may vary by region. We may change prices for future billing periods; where required we will give notice, and a change never affects a period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.
These terms supplement Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).
